Tore Surfboards Hawaii
North Shore shaper Kent Senatore was a pro skater in
the late 70's with an impressive resume which included
three cover shots, a starring role in the Hal Jepson movie
"Skateboard Madness", and signature model skateboard
decks with various skate companies, his most recent pro
model skateboard being with Skull skates in 2004.
In 1980, Kent began shaping and got his first job as
a production shaper with Natural Progression after shaping
only 20 surfboards. In 1987, he moved to the North Shore
of Oahu and got a job working for Bill Barnfield doing
ding repair and shooting glosses.
Then in 1995, he was hired by John Carper (J.C. Surfboards)
as a glasser and after only a few months, began shaping
for JC. During his time under J.C., Kent shaped over 3000
boards and after leaving, he worked as a ghost shaper
for Wade & Kerry Tokoro, Jeff Johnston, Cino, Carl
Schaper, Eric Arakawa, and Jeff Bushman.
Around the same time, he started his own company, Tore
Surfboards Hawaii. Kent has shaped over 5000 boards under
his Tore Surfboards label all by hand. Besides producing
each quality shape, he's also painted, glassed, and sanded
each board.
Kent prefers the "one board at a time" approach
because it allows him to control each board's quality
and fine tune every aspect of production. He also gives
personal service to all of his customers, both new and
current.
